Future Flight (1987)

Today on Far Future Horizons we present Future Flight (1987) hosted by the late Christopher Reeve of Superman fame.

This documentary addresses ten of the greatest possible air and space adventures of the coming century from the perspective of 1987. Using state-of-the-art special effects and historic footage, the program shows how yesterday's science fiction can become tomorrow's science fact.

Other notables that appear in this documentary are former Astronauts Neil Armstrong and Senator John Glenn, Senator Ted Kennedy and aviation pioneer Jeana Yeager who is most famous for co-piloting a non-stop, non-refueled flight around the world in the Rutan Voyager aircraft from December 14 to 23, 1986.

Future Flight originally aired in 1987 and this YouTube video feature was recovered from an old VHS tape TV recording and saved for posterity to compare those predictions to what actually happened or will happen in the future. For example, they predicted back in 1987 that there would be an international space station.   This is the only prediction that has been fulfilled thus far.

So without further ado we present ~ Future Flight.
